About: To provide our loved ones with Developmental Disabilities with services families need to obtain a Medicaid waiver which is a funding source with which to purchase the necessary supports. Each year, our Legislature considers how many “slots” will be approved for funding. Currently there are more than 6000 Georgians on the waiting list for services. The best way to assist our Legislators in determining how many slots get funded we need to communicate our needs to them. During this meeting, Dave Blanchard, the Public Policy Director of the Atlanta Alliance on Developmental Disabilities will join local Legislators to discuss the best way to successfully advocate for our loved ones. Joining him will be Senator Ronnie Chance, Representative Matt Ramsey and Representative Virgil Fludd.
