About: This meeting will provide information about the summer camps that specialize in meeting the needs of campers with developmental disabilities. A panel of parents and their children will share the experiences they have had at various summer camps for kids with developmental disabilities in the Metro Atlanta area. Materials for applying for these camps and applications for scholarships will also available.

Who: This presentation is best suited for all ages.

What: Come Meet the New Region 6 Director and Learn all about Medicaid waivers and the Process to Apply for Them

About: This session is specifically designed to introduce area members to the new Region 6 Director and some of his staff members. Additionally, Lee will provide information about the new Medicaid waivers and guidance on how to apply, what to expect during the application process and how to advocate for your loved one to be placed on the waiting list for services.

Who: This presentation is best suited for all ages. It is recommended that folks currently on the waiting list, or currently receiving services also attend this meeting in order to meet the new Region 6 Support Team.

About: Special Needs Law in Relation to Medicaid Waiver Programs, SSI, Guardianship, Special Needs Trusts and More…

An attorney specializing in the practice of special needs law and a certified Financial will provide additional information to our members. This session will include government benefits counseling, Medicaid planning, Medicaid waiver programs, SSI Medicaid, estate planning, special needs planning for minor and adult children with DD, Medicaid litigation, special needs trusts and child and adult guardianships. This parent-friendly, easy-to-understand session will explain the pros and cons of these subjects along with how to avoid the pitfalls of inadvertently rendering your child ineligible for social security, Medicaid and Medicaid waivers. Join us and learn!

Who: Intended for parents AND ESPECIALLY GRANDPARENTS of children of all ages.
